When a florist plans their own wedding, you know the flowers are going to be extraordinary! Jay and Nick’s autumn-themed celebration was a beautiful showcase of their love and personal style, blending seasonal elegance with playful, whimsical touches.
Describing their theme as “muted autumnal glam with a whimsical twist,” Jay and Nick drew inspiration from the season and the venue’s natural surroundings. Jay’s suit was inspired by Billy Porter, while the florals showcased rich autumnal colours and textures, with touches of carnations and alstroemeria as a heartfelt nod to his late grandfather’s garden.

Feeling like a small fish in a big pond, surrounded by so many incredible wedding suppliers, I never imagined I had a chance—just being named a finalist felt like an achievement in itself. So when I won my regional award, it was the icing on the cake. Then to be crowned Overall Florist completely took my breath away—I was genuinely in shock.
I’m incredibly proud to have earned these awards within the first two years of opening Floral Couture. It’s a huge recognition of all the hard work and dedication that me and my amazing team have poured into our craft.

Jay is an independent florist covering Dorset and surrounding areas, specialising in wedding floral design as well as events, occasions and sympathy. Stunning arrangements incorporated astillbe, carnations erynguim, gypsophila, nigelas and veronicas.
